Comfort the Feet, Comfort the Soul

Open Eyes of the Heart.....

It's simply amazing and comforting to us how many people out there really care about their fellow man. The news doesn't show us one smidgen of the love being poured out. 2/3 of the angels indeed did not fall - for they are out there in the trenches doing what needs to be done. And in their closets praying to the throneroom for the state of the world. Giving in love their time, resources, and attention. With overwhelming gratitude, thank you all for your hearts of service

Partner Appreciation ...

Finding the perfect sock can be a challenge sometimes- but not for us this month. We received the most awesome socks from 3 Comfort Socks partners. All the socks are perfect for the homeless foot!

This month, the Comfort Socks partnership with Your City Sports (www.yourcitysports.com) gave
Over 1,000 pairs of socks to Washington State shelters.
Over 150 pairs of socks to San Antonio, Tx homeless shower ministry.
Over 150 pairs to a Memphis,Tn homeless shelter.
More scheduled for next month. YAY!

Our long time partner, Northpines (www.Northpines.org) made it possible for 4 shelters who were on a wait list to jump for joy when they received soft, warm, durable, Northpine socks. Thank You Northpines, we can always count on you.

A Box of Mitscoots Socks arrived just in time. Mitscoots are SOCKS with a Mission: Get + Give + Employ: With every purchase Mitscoots is helping the homeless get socks and work. www.Mitscoots.com

Welcome New Sock Recipients...

Comfort Socks is excited to welcome 4 new shelters to our list of sock recipients. Carolyn Colwell, owner of Your City Sports, has the most beautiful smile, doesn't she?  She simply lights up the room, and the amazing socks her company provides through our partnership, warm the feet of so many. Thank You, Lord, for allowing us to connect in such a big and beautiful way!

We Love to Give Socks...

Corazon Ministries of San Antonio Texas, a long time sock recipient of Comfort Socks, received 153 pairs of socks from our sock partner Your City Sports. Corazon Ministries are using these socks for their shower ministry. The street homeless Corazon serves are welcomed with a hot meal, their choice of clothing (including our wonderful socks) and then a hot shower with all the hygiene items needed. What a beautiful way to join together and bless someone walking a difficult path. We are grateful to be a part of this thing we call sock love.

We say "Socks" when we take a picture - and just look at those smiles. We were smiling too, delivering close to 200 pairs of socks of comfort Good Shepherd Center homeless guests. Then we stopped by the Early Bread program of St Peter the Fisherman Church and dropped socks there too. It was a very happy day in Wilmington, NC.

Extra warm and comfy socks went to Matthews Ministry out of Cary, NC the other day. These socks are perfect for the outreach team to hand out to the street homeless that seem to bound to a life in the woods. We pray over every pair and believe the warmth of the Lord's love will touch them as they embrace the feeling of warm feet.

We joyfully delivered over 200 pairs of socks to Prepare the Way, a local outreach ministry led by Amy Canady on Saturday's at Jennie's Branch Church. We were so happy to have our sock love touch our community.  Can you tell by our smiles?!

Some testimonials....

Homeward Bound VA (Homeless Connect Project) says….
"Once again, Comfort Socks comes through for us! What a blessing to our neighbors who face homelessness and many hours on the street to have clean, DRY socks to wear. It is always one of the most appreciated blessings that they receive at the Homeward Connect event in Richmond, Va. A big THANK YOU to Comfort Socks for their donation of 126 pairs of mens socks. These socks will be passed out by the volunteers at Providence United Methodist Church who will be participating in the Richmond's Homeless Connect Project. Comfort Socks has provided socks for this annual event for the past 4 or 5 years. Comfort Socks, we are very grateful for everything you do and for the people who support your mission to collect socks."

Stand-Up for Kids – Seattle says….
"Do we talk a lot about socks? YES! Because our kids need them, and we are always so grateful when we have them to give. A big THANK YOU to both Carolyn at Your City Sports and Theresa at Comfort Socks for continuing to support us. Carolyn provided another 100 pairs of socks for us today and 200 for our friends at New Horizons. We were thrilled to be part of this win-win-win connection!"

Huge Thank You's....

The Elks Ladies Auxiliary of Calabash simply love us. Each winter they do two sock drives - one in Oct/Nov and another in Jan/Feb. I'll tell you one thing - these ladies work so hard to bring sock love to the lost - and they succeed every single year. We appreciate each and every one of you. On behalf of the homeless we serve, thank you soooo much.

Sharon UMC – you are another faithful one to Comfort Socks – so glad to have picked up about 70 pairs of warmth for others. Bless you for all you do.

We are honored to be chosen by Beau Rivage Golf & Resort of Wilmington, NC as this year's Holiday Donation Drive recipient. To add to our excitement, a sock drive will be happening at the clubhouse too! Thank you, Beau Rivage for giving us some sock love!

Threaded Cross has discovered us and decided to bless us with a way to receive socks and some funds too. Threaded Cross socks have scripture on the inside band - How cool is that? Imagine opening your sock drawer and seeing bands of scripture staring back at you, PLUS you get the satisifaction of knowing that the very pair you purchase, a pair was sent to Comfort Socks (and a few dollars too).
