New Socks for Homeless Shelters

Comfort the Feet, Comfort the Soul

2015 the Year of Hope

Artist Lee Jeffries has captured a moment that will speak to you, if you let it.  This picture opens me to this homeless woman's realization of fear. I also see the toll it takes on a life.  We, as caring people, must respond to the desparation of circumstance. It's not about their choices, it's about ours. Please let 2015 be THE year of hope. Let's move together and start right here by providing this one simple, warm, but powerful thing. Join us as we strive to Comfort the Feet, Comfort the Soul.

Often when we have the privilege to share our mission to a group or agency, often feel moved to speak about the network we have developed across the nation. The people who work at shelters and non-profits who primarily serve the homeless one on one deserve such recognition. Often a broken person is angry at the ‘hand that feeds them”. But yet these go forth in love and compassion anyway, reacting from the heart instead of what the world says is justified. I hope you will join me in including them in your prayers along with the homeless. I am mindful that 2/3 of the angels did NOT fall, and they are being used right here, in the background, to encourage and bless others.

Thank you Your City Sports for our kindred heart and purpose.

This month, the Comfort Socks partnership with Your City Sports (  brought 360 pairs of socks to 3 amazing places of rest for the homeless feet.  Northwest Youth Services (NYS) is a 16 bed shelter for youth and young adults and they served over 800 youth in 2014. Lewis County Gospel Mission in Chehalis, WA. is a place that provides showers and meals for the homeless. Twin Cities Mission is a shelter for women and children and they have 17 beds.  They partner with a church called Gather Church where they have a program called “Socks in the cities”.  They go out on the streets and give socks to the homeless.  So the socks would be used in the shelter as well as on the streets.

Help us keep this fantastic momentum going by supporting Your City Sports. Together we continue to Comfort the Feet, Comfort the Soul!

Covered With Love...

Can you feel the love tonight? We sure can - thank you Mitscoots Socks. Your donation of warm comfort socks for the soul will be heading up to Haven of Rest homeless shelter in Ohio. We will sleep well knowing we did good together.

For the homeless of Wilmington, the Early Bread program at Church of St. Peter the Fisherman provides Sunday morning nourishment, for body and soul, complimented with the comfort of new socks. Comfort Socks is proud to have provided enough socks to keep their breakfasts going for quite a while. Thank you to our supporters, whose blessing overflows to those without a home.

LYNN Ministries, Inc.
has been a Comfort Socks recipient for many years now -We are Blessed to be a part of their amazing, one on one work with the homeless of MASS. We Especially Loved this part of their post.....”our team was their knees warming feet and changing socks, serving food ....” Now that’s what we are talking about.

We love when our local community connects with the purpose of blessing. We send out a very heartfelt thank you to Southport Elementary School for their recent sock drive. Kids, parents and faculty, you sure know how to come together and accomplish sock love.

Calabash Covenant Presbyterian's Sock's On Sunday Event was a HUGE success. 600 pairs of socks collected so far and more on the way. That means over 600 people BLESSED! They fully understood the importance of socks (and shoes) and many worshipped in their stocking feet. Eventho the frigid weather added a chill to the tile floors, the congregants embraced the concept. Thank you Calabash Covenant Presbyterian Church, for your Sock Love in action. Click here to host your own Socks on Sunday Event.

What's a give back night? That's when our friends at Angelos Pizzeria & Bistro give us a donation for every meal served on a given night. The Comfort Socks Give Back Night is set for Monday March 9th - So come on out, enjoy your favorite meal at Angelo's, and support our charity at the same time. Hope to see you there! @Angelos Pizzeria & Bistro

Proud to announce we will be providing over 300 pairs of socks to the 2015 New Hanover Veterans Standdown on May 8, 2015. A standdown is a special event given once a year for our Veterans who are street homeless. For the entire day there are meals, haircuts, clothing, medical care, identification help, and our favorite the “foot station”. Guests leave with a backpack full of great things, sock being purposely placed as one of the first item to be seen when the bag is opened. We love to see their faces light up!!
