Comfort Socks Newsletter - March 2012 - Socks for the Homeless
Because of a Sock
Does anyone else besides me find it interesting that Dobby, the enslaved elf in the Harry Potter series, was freed by a sock?Out
of 88 grant applications, Comfort Socks was selected as one of the
recipients. But to see community action and efforts at work is a truly a blessed thing for us. Thank You BEMC, for seeing and supporting our vision, and for reaching out to our community in such a powerful and positive way.
Comfort Socks accepted the invitation of Dr. Daniel Miller, the host of WVOX IN FOCUS radio show. The IN FOCUS
program airs out of Westchester NY, and Comfort Socks was on the air on
the March 21st, 6:30 pm segment. This is the second time we have had
this honor. Don't worry if you couldn’t tune in - we will get an audio
of the broadcast and post on our website. Thank You, Dr Miller, for the
opportunity to share the Comfort Socks mission with your listeners
We are proud to work with BC Streetreach
supporting Brunswick County (our home county) with the comfort of new
socks. What an amazing work all the host sites did this past winter!
Looking forward to keeping our community filled with socks next season. www.bcstreetreach.org

A Great Big Thank You to
our Sock Collectors
Ladies of the Jennies Branch Baptist Church presented socks to us and
gave us the opportunity to break their hearts as to the condition of
the homeless. Thank you, Ladies, for your reception to our mission. We
know we will be hearing from you again.
socks all the way from Fort Edward, NY thanks to Elizabeth Babson and
the children of Little Angels Daycare – always so exciting and
encouraging for us when we know our message is heard.Once
again, the heart and faithfulness of Comfort Socks supporter, Matthew
Cloner, of Seattle, Washington appeared through the socks that arrived
this month. Matthew has been with us from the beginning. We are blessed
that you have found us, Matthew. Welcome Susie, our first ‘Comfort Box’
volunteer. Susie is the Florida contact for anyone who wants to do a
sock drive. She will schedule your events, and work out the details of
getting the socks/funds you collect to a shelter authorized by Comfort
Socks or to our North Carolina warehouse. Thank You, Suzie, for being
the first of many Comfort Box volunteers to help us grow and serve the
needs of the homeless throughout America. To contact Susie or if you
interested in becoming a Comfort Box in your state, please

Ever been in love? Well,
the ladies of the non-profit org "Neighbors in Service" sure do love
Comfort Socks. These Brunswick Plantation residents have decided to support our
mission once again in the fall. We are so grateful to have found them, and just
for the record "We Love You Too, Neighbors in Service".
Thank You Contributors - for your Faithfulness
Your support of Comfort Socks has allowed us to receive 36,606 pairs of socks so far. We are so grateful to all our supporters. First: We wish Comfort and Compassion are known by our actions and to all sock recipients. Second: We pray for Blessings for our supporters, sock recipients, and those without a home. Third: Please stay mindful of us and remember us monthly, if you can. Special Thanks to New Life Christian Fellowship for allowing us the use of their facilities and for their prayers and support for our mission and for those without a home.

Socks is so grateful for our supporters. Encouragement comes in the
form of phone calls, facebook interaction, donations of resources and
socks. I know many of you enjoy reading about those who help, and
seeing all the pictures of the smiles with socks - and we enjoy sharing
the pleasure side of our mission too - but please, let us not forget why we are here.
For every smile you see, there are many more people who do not have a
smile to share. I encourage you today to visit our donation page
or send your donation to our PO Box 477 Supply, NC 28462. We appreciate
your help so much but those you have helped by your support are
grateful in a way they cannot express. We have the honor to thank you
for them. God Bless You
