Comfort Socks Newsletter - June 2012 - Socks for the Homeless

Comfort Socks stood in good company at the ATMC Grant Awards Ceremony, held on June 5. Honored as we were to be a grant recipient, we were humbled by the room filled with other non-profits from our community who work so hard to do good for others. Thank You, ATMC, for recognizing our work, and the work of so many. Your commitment to our community’s non-profit sector is powerful and appreciated.

Thank You, Pastor Dwight Reeves and Seaside Christian Fellowship congregation for the opportunity to share the Socks on Sunday Comfort Socks message. You were so friendly and welcoming, and the feeling in the room was very beautiful. We appreciate so much your support and love shown to our work. Why not check out Seaside Chrisitan Fellowship one Sunday? You can find them on facebook and at 519 Seaside Rd SW, Ocean Isle Beach, NC (910) 579-5918 Sunday Services are at 11am.

Thank You Contributors - for your Faithfulness

Comfort Socks is so grateful for our supporters. Encouragement comes in the form of phone calls, facebook interaction, donations of resources and socks. I know many of you enjoy reading about those who help, and seeing all the pictures of the smiles with socks - and we enjoy sharing the pleasure side of our mission too - but please, let us not forget why we are here. For every smile you see, there are many more people who do not have a smile to share. I encourage you today to visit our donation page at  http://comfortsocksonline.org/dontoday.php or send your donation to our PO Box 477 Supply, NC 28462. We appreciate your help so much but those you have helped by your support are grateful in a way they cannot express. We have the honor to thank you for them.

Your support of Comfort Socks has allowed us to receive 37,434 pairs of socks so far.  We are so grateful to all our supporters. First: We wish Comfort and Compassion are known by our actions and to all sock recipients.  Second: We pray for Blessings for our supporters, sock recipients, and those without a home. Third: Please stay mindful of us and remember us monthly, if you can. Special Thanks to New Life Christian Fellowship for allowing us the use of their facilities and for their prayers and support for our mission.

Do you own real estate may wish to donate to us? Did you know that under the new health care bill all real estate transactions will be subject to a 3.8% sales tax after 2012? Now might be a good time to consider the tax benefits of donating property to a non-profit like Comfort Socks. If you have a piece of property that you are unable to sell or lease, a donation of that real estate to Comfort Socks would be of interest to us and may be of great benefit to you. Please contact me so we can discuss these opportunities.

Comfort Socks is a 501(c)3 public charity that collects and distributes new socks for homeless
people and families. All contributions are tax-deductible as allowed by law.
